Dakota Dunes Casino is a First Nations casino located in Whitecap, Saskatchewan.Situated on Whitecap Dakota First Nation land south of Saskatoon along Saskatchewan Highway 219, the 84,000 sq. Ft facility opened in 2007, and includes a casino, restaurant, multi-purpose rooms, and an 18-hole golf course. Located on traditional Whitecap Dakota Unceded Territory, nestled within a beautiful river setting and surrounded by gently rolling natural sand dunes, Dakota Dunes Resort & Casino is Saskatoon’s first full-service resort experience. The Dakota Dunes Casino is located on the historical Whitecap First Nation, 20 minutes south of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, on highway 219.
Dakota Dunes Casino is a First Nations casino located in Whitecap, Saskatchewan. Situated on Whitecap Dakota First Nation land south of Saskatoon along Saskatchewan Highway 219, the 84,000 sq. ft facility opened in 2007, and includes a casino, restaurant, multi-purpose rooms, and an 18-hole golf course.
In September 2018, construction began on a new $38 million, 115-room hotel on the resort site, expected to open in 2020. There are also plans for a spa as part of the next phase of the resort.[2]
The Teepee of Light consists of seven 4000-watt spot lights that at night project into the night sky to form a light effect in the shape of a teepee.
The 18 hole golf course opened to the public on April 30, 2004. The golf course was designed by Graham Cooke. It hosted the SIGA Dakota Dunes Open on PGA Tour Canada from 2008 to 2016.[3]

The155-room resort stands as a tribute to its indigenous heritage with angularwindow trims and exterior wood panels echoing the traditional tipi. Thisthoughtful nod to the Whitecap Dakota Nation culture carries through to theresort’s guest rooms by way of art and design with soothing neutral tones, richwood furnishings and an artistic representation of traditional Whitecap Dakotaculture in every room. IndigenousNations, Zane Hansen, President & CEO, Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authorityand Brad Tokarchuk, Director Corporate Finance, Bank of Montreal addressed thesmall gathering before dignitaries including the Chiefs of the Saskatoon TribalCouncil assembled for the ribbon cutting. The ribbon was cut by honouredVeteran Willis Royal while the Wahpeton Drum Group ushered the attendees intothe newly minted hotel with a victory song.
